Assessment Program for newcomers to the primary schools can begin earlier than the scheduled time.

Dr. Hosseini, Deputy Minister and the Head of the Special Needs Education Organization (SNEO) proposed:

At the discretion of the Provincial Assessment Council, the Assessment Program for newcomers to the primary schools can begin earlier than scheduled time.

In a meeting with the members of the Steering Council in Special Needs Education Organization, Dr Hosseini noted that according to the decision made by the National Headquarters for Combating Corona Virus, all schools are to start on September 6, 2020 for the incoming school year, which means that schools will start two weeks earlier than the regular anticipated time. So we are pressed for time for the implementation of the Newcomers’ Assessment Program. Bearing this in mind, we need to reschedule the assessment timeline and start our screening a few weeks earlier than what was planned.

SNEO head added that at the discretion of the Provincial Assessment Council, the assessment program can start two weeks earlier and the assessment bases can work in a second shift in the afternoons in order to compensate for the shortage of the assessment time and the maximum coverage of newcomers and pre-K students.

He also added: 4.2 billion Tomans have been allocated to the assessment bases to be used for disinfection and provision of sanitary facilities.
