In Iran, every year, all new students are evaluated in a program called "Program for assessing the physical health and academic readiness of new students upon entering primary school " from various dimensions such as cognitive, physical, sensory and motor abilities.

According to Seyed Javad Hosseini, head of the Exceptional Education Organization of Iran, from July 2020 to March 2021, more than one million new students have been evaluated on the eve of entering the first grade of elementary school in this project.

The purpose of this project is to identify students with special needs to provide services tailored to their characteristics.
